Production Readiness

Prepare your FOREN integration for live transactions after completing sandbox testing.

Before you begin

Complete your sandbox test plan and resolve any issues before switching to Live mode.

Go live

  1. Confirm your production requirements

Verify that your integration meets your organization’s security, operational, and approval requirements for processing live transactions.

  2. Switch to Live mode

In the FOREN Dashboard, go to Developers → Configuration and use the mode toggle in the top right to switch to Live Mode.

Live mode gives you access to your production configuration and credentials.

  3. Get your production API keys

Go to Developers → Configuration → API Keys and reveal your production keys.

Live keys use the pk_live_ and sk_live_ prefixes. Store your secret key securely on your server. Never expose it in client-side code, browsers, or public repositories.

See API Keys for more information.

  4. Update your application

Replace your sandbox credentials with your production credentials in your deployment environment.

Before processing a transaction, confirm that your production application is using the Live keys.

  5. Configure your production webhook

Set the webhook URL that your production application will use to receive events. Make sure the endpoint is publicly accessible over HTTPS and that your application verifies webhook signatures.

See Webhooks for setup and verification guidance.

  6. Run a controlled live transaction

Where applicable, send a controlled production transaction and confirm the result in both your application and the FOREN Dashboard.

Verify the transaction status, webhook event, and settlement behavior before processing higher volumes.

  7. Monitor your first transactions

Monitor your initial live transactions closely. Investigate any failed, pending, or unexpected transactions before increasing your transaction volume.

🚧

Protect your production credentials

Use Live credentials only in your production environment. If you suspect that your secret key has been exposed, reset your API keys in the FOREN Dashboard and update your application configuration immediately.
